Meat and 3

Meat and 3. "Three what?" you ask? I don't blame you. Three sides. (Check out the pictures at the end and see if you can guess what the sides are.)

It's something I hadn't heard of until we moved to Nashville. Honestly, I could do without. But the "Meat and 3" is enough of a local delicacy that there is competition among the local eating establishments for the best Meat and 3.

Our friends, Marey and Tim were in town a few weeks ago and Mike thought they should experience Nashville's best, so he (we) took them to Arnold's for brunch. (Un)Fortunately, I had to pass on brunch
because I'd eaten a late breakfast ... They weren't the only ones that love the Meat and 3. The line was out the door way before lunch time on a day when the weather was lousy enough to keep the faint of stomach eating chips from the office vending machine. See for yourselves ...

Hi Love. "Meat n' 3" looks like a delicacy? I am sure it tastes delicious, better than it photographs. At first I thought it was nicely garnished road kill, but then I realized it was the traditional roast-mashed potatoes-macaroni & cheese, with a hearty dollop of collared greens. Something I would have piled high in my former days and only salivate over now. I'll bet it was good by golly! Hey bub, ya'll slide over a tad, I can't git to the corn bread. :-)
