The Grand Ol' Opry


Dave & Ruth came to visit us in October and take in some real Southern culture. Naturally we headed to the Ryman Auditorium - home of the Grand Ol' Opry. Ben thought it was lots of fun to run around the theater. He had no appreciation for the history of the place. I think he didn't think of Minnie Pearl even once while he ran up and down the aisles.

Because the blog isn't a blog without a cute photo, here is the first bit of cute for y'all to enjoy.

When I was five and lived in Nashville, my parents took me trick-or-treating to Minnie Pearle's house. Err, mansion.

She was extremely nice, and gave all the kids a full-sized Snickers bar instead of the standard fun size version.

Ben looks like he's having a blast! Kim and I are going to try and get up your way sometime in the next couple of months to finally meet him. :)
